Jamie Oliver's 10 Skills Primary
Working with primary teachers across the country we have built our 10 Skills programme to be a ‘plug-and-play’ solution that delivers high-impact, curriculum-linked learning with zero fuss. Based around the 10 fundamental cooking skills Jamie believes every child should master before they leave school.
Jamie Oliver's 10 Skills Primary
Jamie has always believed that being able to cook is just as important as learning to read or write. So he's devised a curriculum of work to teach Key Stage 3 students all the skills they need to be able to cook. This is a genius resource for teaching kids to lead a deliciously healthy life.
"Cooking is one of the most powerful tools we have to set our kids up for a healthier, happier future. We know that children who attend schools with robust food education programs are twice as likely to achieve their 'five a day.' I want every child in the UK to have access to this life skill"

"I see children who struggle at a desk finally thrive. Cooking in schools is so much more than the sum of its parts. Children that struggle with sitting at a desk have a different opportunity to thrive. Children that are good academically have a different chance to show their skills. Leaders stand out, maths is learnt, science is key, history is a factor. And without doubt one of the most important life skills is basic cookery. I’ve seen the biggest impact with the SEND children. Seeing how they develop over time when involved with a cooking programme is incredible. Many struggle with the idea of textures and flavours; with the right guidance this improves dramatically – vitally, in some cases."

"It is a lifelong skill that children will take with them. The main benefits were seeing children's enthusiasm for cooking, ensuring they take food home, developing new skills and understanding more about nutrition. It just takes a bit of creative thinking, but it is a lifelong skill that children will take with them."

Headteacher, Silver Springs Primary Academy, Stalybridge
"Making this a part of learning has an instant impact on children's curiosity. It helps decrease the number of children with poor eating habits — which ultimately costs us all in the long term. If you care about the future of children and want to see them not only eat better but perform better, having such a programme should be seen as a priority."
